About Me.

At the age of 3 years old, I started to show interest in music, with a great ability to listen to a melody, find the notes and sing them. At the age of 6 years, I joined the Vocational School Arts of Villa Clara, Cuba, where I am from. After several recruitment tests, I was chosen to become part of this prestigious music school. From 8 years old, proudly participated in various festivals of classical piano, choral, and contemporary music, receiving awards on many occasions as one of the best contestant and best music student of my year. At the age of 14 years old, I wanted to continue my professional career in music (piano), auditioning at the famous National School of Music (ENA) in Havana, concluding studies in 2001.

 

I discovered my passion for teaching music as well helping both beginners and advanced students to understand the music world. I worked as a piano teacher in cultural centers, schools and also providing private lessons. At the same time, I experience playing different music styles with popular music Cuban bands, as a keyboardist and vocalist performing at the most famous cabarets, clubs and bars of Havana. Also at parties, social cultural events, weddings, and more, all around the country, always sharing and performing my ideas and creativities as a professional musician.  This is why all my colleagues named me "Musa", a Spanish name which means "Muse".

 

In 2001 I was invited by one of the most famous opera singers in Cuba to train at the Opera house of Havana to continue improving my singing skills. This provided me with the opportunity being selected part of the world renowned "Havana Night Club Show", led by Nicole Durr. I played a key role to represent the formation doing promotional tours in some of the most famous theaters in Thailand, Singapore, Europe and Latin America. "Havana Night" became the most famous Cuban show in Las Vegas, United States.

 

This experience inspired my interest in Asia, and in 2004 I decided to move to Shanghai, China, where I worked as professional musician and lived for more than 11 years. During this time, I shared my artist knowledge, taught music lessons and performed in several events such as weddings, theaters, Latin festivals, bars and clubs, as both a singer and pianist focusing on different music styles like rock, funk, soul, pop, jazz and dance music.

 

At the moment, I am residing in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, where my mission is to continue bringing the world my best performances of the music that I loves so much, promoting the value and beautiful impact that music has on children. Formerly a piano and vocal teacher at the PAA (Performing Art Center) in Thao Dien, HCMC, I decided now to open my own private lesson studio named "Musa Allegro Studio" (MAS).
